Purposely situated at the heart of Osterra's central continent, Haven serves as shelter, retreat and a place of rest and learning for all. Constructed with materials donated from most factions, Haven houses the Temple of Light, library and monastery dedicated to the worship the Lords of Light (an expansive pantheon encompassing all good deities). The compound also houses a small lazaret (hospital) and herb garden/laboratory for medicinal and botanical research and distilling potions. The main keep also serves as barracks and training ground for the Shield, whose members come from all factions and act independently or collectively in times of need against various threats to Osterra. In its artifact reliquary, the Temple houses sacred gifts bestowed on Osterra by the Lords of Light: Dawn’s Hope and Silver Twilight. Each bearing a mote from the gods themselves, these twin lights keep evil at bay and prevent the opening of portals near Haven's walls. Haven is also home to Sir Gareyth, who keeps a watchful eye on goings on there and the training of new Shield recruits whenever he can spare the time.
